Film cameras have gone the way of the dinosaur. Since digital cameras have permeated into our society and encourage the sharing of photos over the web, you have to be able to get the photos of your camera. This is where software comes into play, most cameras come prepackaged with them and will download to your computer when you connect. These computer software packages can make your life easier if used properly.
When you connect your camera to your computer, the program should already start up. With it, you will have options to download the photos to your computer, sort your photos, and choose the ones you want to delete. Instead of having to sort through your photos manually, this program will do it for you. In case that your camera does not come with an application, there are some shareware or free software downloads to use.
Take a look at products made by groups of Open Source developers, as they come up with new software applications almost every week. Google makes a great computer picture bundle of applications to help edit and grab the photos off your computer. Do not be afraid to install these applications, as they are made to make your life easier. In the end, digital cameras have made sharing and using our photos much easier.
